Tips for attaching neoprene beanie?

Got a neoprene beanie recently, borrowed a friends one ages ago when I had a back zip wetsuit. Loved the comfort of it over a hood, now the problem is I have a chest zip wetsuit so I can't attach the beanie to the wetsuit anymore. Or fishing line tied from the hole in the zipper through the label on the hat?
