I'm moving house soon and want to have a sweet media system set up in both the kitchen/living room and sitting room.

    So far my ideas are.

    Sitting room:

    HD TV.
    Sky/UPC
    Surround sound system
PC tower under TV - Connected to TV via HDMI. (Going for a tower as want a powerful enough machine with a large HD capable of most tasks except demanding games)
    Wireless mouse and keyboard

    Living Room
    HD TV
Have one of those connectors that transfer the signal from the Sky/UPC box to another room.
    Surround sound system.
Connected to PC using Chromecast or similar.

    Will have WIFI network.

Should this all work ok or does anyone have any other ideas ?

Only be sure run ethernet, don't depend on wireless for media

Maybe think about not having the pc under the tv... anyone who i have met who has gone that route seems to get ticked off at a loud humming unit under the tv after a while.

Get one without moving parts, fanless with ssd. Mine is completely silent, but I have a server tucked away upstairs with all my media
