    Hi All,

I have a BTW coming up. Now I'd love a nice carbon road bike, there's a Specialized Tarmac in The LBS giving me the 'c'mere looks :D
That would set me back about €2300 with a wheel upgrade.

I have Ridley road bike, Aluminium, and I'm very fond of it, would hate to discard it. Would my BTW money be better spent on a better set of wheels for the Ridley, perhaps have the groupo replaced, good strip down service and a new bike fit (Its been a couple of years)?

Or would the Tarmac still be teasing me? I want to do some racing next year, is a carbon frame worth it

I have a fancy carbon TT bike but its hard to compare to the roadie.

But the Tarmac and keep the Ridley as your winter/wet weather bike.

I have a Ridkey compact and it's bern relegated as my winter bike but I absolutely love it and will have it long after the newest bike goes.

If you sell the ridley and buy a Tarmac you won't want it getting wrecked in cold wet weather with all sorts of grime and salt of the roads finding it's way into every crevice and you 'might' find yourself not as inclined to go out cycling.

I initially considered selling my ridley but so glad I kept it. I use it more than the good bike as we get so much ****e weather but can't wait for the weather to improve to get my good bike out again.

    It's a win win situation.

Complete bikes only on the BTW scheme so I'm closing this thread
