Specific National Reserve question...

Would really appreciate a second opinion on my logic wrt applying as a "New Entrant" to the National Reserve:

Applied for Herd Number in 2012.
Finished assembling herd in January 2013 and did first round test (TB and BR) in March 2013.
Applied for AEOS but were rejected for selection because we are not in receipt of a Pillar 1 payment.
Did an SPS application every year since but have not secured any entitlements because the National Reserve was closed for those years.
    Only in receipt of DAS.

    Now the question:
Is it true that we are NOT new entrants because we got the herd number in 2102, despite it being impossible to avail of the National Reserve in the 2013/2014 SPS years?
If my thinking is sound there appears to have been a period of time in 2012 when anyone commencing farming was not, and continues to be, incapable of accessing the National Reserve.

    Thanks.

I thought there was a national reserve in those years. The only change in 2012 was that you had to have the green cert to apply.

You should ring department, there is a special number for this area ( think it is on agfood site) , if you did not apply for sfp/das in 2012 you may have a chance. i just gave them my herd number and they told me straight away.

Thanks folks. We only got the herd number in mid 2012 and had missed the SPF application date by a couple of months. In late February 2013 we were told to send in a 2012 SPF application on order to get LPIS designations to allow us to apply for AEOS (without success), so we only did our first SPF in 2013 when there was nothing left in the National Reserve well.
Vandy West: Would love to get that number if you manage to find it again. I'm having a look on agfood but without much luck. I hope they were able to give you good news.

Vandy West: was it 0761 064 446 by any chance?
When we rang up to ask we were told that we started farming from the date of application for the herd number. Mid-2012 in our case :-(

Yes that was the number. I got herd number and applied for sfp(das) in 2011, which meant I was ineligible to be a new entrant.
