With more as 10 years of constant work on his own musical and artistic visions in the studio (both audio and video) Germany’s Misanthrop is no stranger to the international Drum & Bass scene at all. He was caught up by the dark sounds and menacing beats of ‘drum and bass’ in the early nineties, when he decided to produce his own tracks under the moniker ‘Misanthrop’; a name that in his point of view gave him the freedom to use music as a medium to express personal experiences of human interactions. His musical arrangements symbolicly oppose to the lack of candour – his aim is to break through the borders of conventions to set new unusal grounds With his hard hitting and distinctive sound his back catalogue ranges from successful releases on Renegade Hardware, over to Shadow Law, Cyanide, and up to Subtitles Music. He literally went from strength to strength and found his biggest success in the release of the mighty “Viperfish” on Subtitles Music, which among other things got highlighted by Andy-C countless times.
Next to all of this his music gained steady support by international top acts like Andy C, Pendulum, Ed Rush & Optical, Teebee & Calyx, Phace, Mayhem, Noisia, Spor etc. As DJ, the Hamburg based musician has toured most of the world’s DnB locations, clubs and festivals. His sets are known for flawless mixing, deep cutting edge funk and enough energy to split an atom.

At the end of 2008 he decided with longterm friend and partner Phace to launch their own musical platform – NEOSIGNAL. His debut album “From Deep Space” in collaboration with Phace was released beginning of 2010. With the success of their LP, Misanthrop followed up with several single releases as well as collaborations with his partner in crime “Phace”

In 2011 “Desert Orgy” by Phace and Misanthrop is one of the top picks by any D´n´B Dj´s around the globe reflected in a Top10 charts position for several weeks at Beatport ! By moving to Hamburg earlier in 2011, the foundation stone was laid for his next big project. Celebrating the 10th release of Neosignal’s full catalogue, Misanthrop teamed up with the scene’s hottest producers up to date for the mighty “ENERGY EP”. Hard work pays off - the first single sold out within two days ! Early 2012, Phace & Misanthrop decided to start a new collaborative electronic band project, also named Neosignal, to reach out into new fields of electronic music and sound. In form of a remix for Noisia's 'Stigma' released on Deadmau5's Mau5trap Recordings, the newly formed Neosignal band project found its first appearance, followed by a remix of Rockwell's 'Childhood Memories' (feat. Kito & Sam Frank) on Shogun Audio, and a remix of Koan Sound's 'Eastern Thug', released on Skrillex's OWSLA imprint in September 2012.

In the summer of 2013 the band Neosignal released their non-Drum & Bass debut LP ‘Raum und Zeit’ on Noisia’s Division Recordings imprint and introduced the world to their unique take on diverse electronic music free from any expectations or restrictions . In regard towards his Drum & Bass projects, Misanthrop released another collaboration EP with Phace entitled ‘Motor’ in February 2013 followed by a solo Misanthrop EP entitled ‘Greed of Gain’ at the end of 2013. Misanthrop is more as one to watch, he has always been around and just waited for the rigth moment to step out of the shade.
