This is usually a really nice and well organized 70km/100km event. Unfortunately was washed out last year when a freak storm hit that morning so hopefully this year the weather will be good. Great lunch at Clonakilty GAA too!

The town will be hopping too as it coincides with all the Lusitania centenary events.

Weather looks like it will clear up by tomorrow morning so if you are looking for a really nice spin through some stunning locations and a good lunch in Clonakilty - the Kinsale Cycle Challenge (100km and 70km) is taking place tomorrow 9th May 2015 starting 10am at the Community school. More details at http://www.kinsale.ie/event/kinsale-cycle-challenge-2015/

€35 entry fee (going to a charitable causes) and very well organized by Kinsale and District Lions’ Club.

Always like doing this one. Is it later this year than usual. It's a pity it's on the same weekend as the Tour de Cure.

Yeah but it would be a nice challenge to take on the 2 100 Km routes. Forecast is ok so I'll give it a lash.

    Yeah that's my plan.

Part one complete. Good day for it and a nice route.

Thanks to the marshalls and volunteers at the food stop. Loads of everything.

One thing maybe to put the emergency contact number on a route map rather than calling it out just before the cycle starts. But that doesn't take away from a great event.

Hope to see you next year. Now to sign on for the tour De cure.

Fabulous day for it, a hilly but enjoyable course, well organised and stewarded as usual. Nice new start/finish point. That hill to the rugby club used to be a heart breaker. Heard of a spill when a pot hole took some guy down, he was carted off to the hospital. Hope it's not too serious. Onto the tour de cure!!!.

perfect weather for it and the wind for the most part stayed away. Well organized and great lunch at the Clon GAA. Very happy with my time as well. Great day out - well done Kinsale and District Lions' Club!
