Optilase V Optical Express

Went for a consultation with Optical Express before Christmas, at the time, all seemed fine but were extremely pushy about getting a deposit from me and went so far as to say they could offer me a discount of 1000 euro only if i paid the deposit on the day. At the time, i thought this was a great deal and foolishly believed them. Since then their customer service has totally gone down in my opinion. I have been trying to finalize a date for surgery and sort out a few other things with them which they just dont seem to care about. Once they got the deposit, that was it. Because of this poor service, i began to realize if its like this before the surgery, what hope have i got afterwards. I recently decided to go for a second opinion with Optilase and this was a totally different experience altogether. No pushy sales people, and they were more interested in the care of your eyes before surgery than anything else, no deposit looked for on the day, given all the info to go through and told to think about it. They also offer a lifetime guarantee, optical express only offer a 12 month guarantee. My problem now is that i wont get my deposit back if i change to Optilase but in saying that i have lost total confidence in Optical express and reading other reviews online, i realise that they use the same sales pitch on everyone, its a disgrace.

Had a negative experience with OE as well and eventually chose Optilase for Lasik. Since done and all good! Sent you a PM with more details.

I went with Optilase and while I'm personally suffering a bit with dry eye I can't fault them on their customer service. They are always on hand to deal with any query you have.

My dry eye has subsided in recent weeks, just over 5 months since surgery. Something that may help is an anti-histamine.. seemed to have worked with me as any allergy or pollen will make the dryness worse this time of year.

I actually took antihistamines for 3 days before I read they can make dry eyes worse so I figured I should stop, Maybe I should go back on them. Although I've never had allergies before, not that I know of anyway.

    Thanks :)
