Sky Multiroom Query

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help with a query about Sky Multiroom. I've currently got one Sky box in the living room with one Sky card however a friend of mine had a spare Sky Box he's getting rid of. Is it possible to use the second box without a Sky card to get TV in a second room or is this just not a runner? Would love it if there was a work around

    Thanks

    RP

Thats easily enough done. You will just need to run a cable from the dish to the other box to pick up the FTA channels (available without a Sky subscription).

Depending on the age of the Sky box you might need an expired UK Sky card which can be got on Adverts for around a fiver. If its a fairly recent box it will display the Irish EPG when it's set up which means you wont get the likes of ITV 1, 2, 3 and 4 and the Channel 5 family of channels. However if its an older model then you shouldnt need a card.

get your friend to remove the card from the box and reboot it and see what you have on the EPG
