Hi I'm 20 years old. Female student and trying to get insurance on a litre car. I want to get insured on my own policy. I have lesson done so far. I'm getting quotes for 2000 plus.

Anyone out there with a provisional license of similar circumstances and have gotten a good quote?

(Can't find a section for the motor related questions so if an Admin can move this post that would be great)

That sounds about right for a quote..

You are aware that you must have a full licence holder in the car with you??

If you are stopped alone you will get done for no licence and having no insurance and your car will prob get siezed...

I am aware of the consequences of driving with out a full license driver. I have my provisional 3 months now. I want to practise in between lessons with a full license driver and towards my full test.

€2000 sounds like very good value to me. I'm 26, full licence for two years, provisional for 5 years previous to two years full and mine is €1700.

Who gave you a quote for €2000 out of interest, I might shop around...

First ireland gave me the quote but id have to have a minimum of 6 lessons done with one of their instructors to avail of the quote and then id have to complete the next 4 lessons in the first 2 weeks of being insured with them.

If you choose your driving lessons with aviva they'll give you 6 months free insurance i've been told. Check them out.
