We aim for 24-28 months with a weight of calving down about 550kg. Weight at AI doesn't bother us much, they gain about 1/3 again in body-weight after AI so we gauge it as we go. Usually an easy calving CH or LM first time round.

    What breeds are your heifers?

I aim for 24 month calving here too but that's ranged at everything from 22 -26. I know a lad that won't bull anything under 500kg. If the heifer is over 420kg she'll be grand. I have gone smaller but it needs to have a bit of a chance.

I would only chance sim on huge heifers. They can throw big especially with charlaois in the mix
