What type of a steel roof is it. If it's corrugated steel torch on felt is not your answer

Ok well if it's an old steel hut I'd say biggest problem you will have is rust. You could sand it back to bare metal and acid etch prime the steel similar to if you where going to paint it. Bare in mind the torching on of the felt produces a lot of heat and molten bitumen. Will this warp the steel do you think ? My suggestion would be maybe look in to a rubberised paint instead

How about you just get some bitumen, melt it and spread it out with a cheap sweeping brush?
