    Hi folks,

Having a bit of trouble finding a source for some steel tubes as shown in the pictures below.

Basically I'm looking for short lengths of steel tube to building hand balancing canes, so they need to be fairly robust, maybe 3/4 inch diameter. Length approx 40-50cm, and threaded on both ends to allow them to fasten into threaded floor flanges.

Any ideas where I might be able to find this?

    Thanks in advance
    Spud

I think they have a branch on the south circular rd. Beside the boxing stadium.

Nice one, that's handy to me, I'll give them a shot.

I wasn't sure if they were still in business, I haven't noticed any of their vans knocking about.

BSS will have the tubing that you are looking for, but not in short lengths.
I think the minimum you can buy is 4m, unless they have a damaged piece to sell.
Next you need to thread the ends, you can hire this equipment from most hire companies, but be careful when using it as replacement heads are expensive.

How about buying a length of threaded bar and cutting it to length: you could sleeve it with plastic piping to hide the threads and also put on a lock nut either end.
Having said that, I don't know it 3/4 " is enough, given the application.

BSS will also have the Flanges no problem. You can get them all sizes with and without holes.

    Have you tried Radionics?

They have a trade counter in Rialto.

Pirtek would be my first thought for anything pipe related.

What good is a flange without a hole?;)

They're often used without holes in steel Fabrication situations.
