    Hi,

You asked for C & C of your photo. I'm not sure how to re-post it for that purpose, but I did want to comment.

The photo is fine, a bit abstract which I like. The sky is a little devoid of detail for my liking. I personally prefer a little cloud to break up empty space. The sky is perhaps a little too saturated (though that might be how it looked at the time). The composition is pleasing.

However that said, I must admit that I'm confused by other aspects of the photo.

Is it a composite or have you just desaturated the tree line?

What is the strange white semi-circle and the other pale white triangle shape
that veers off to the right in the sky? Is there a reason that you have put those in, or am I missing something?

In any event, I would personally have rendered the whole image as B & W and been happy with it. The texture in the scrub and trees is nicely done but the sky is just too overbearing for me.

    Cheers

It is a line of trees along the dune line at the beach. I was there at dawn yesterday trying to get the sunrise over Cape Byron. The clouds thwarted that plan but I took a snap of these trees as the shape of them appealed to me. To accent the shapes and texture I processed it as a high contrast mono, which was OK. There was no sky there that morning but fiddling around I put in a solid blue layer with a gradient. The aim was to make it like a "Cartoon" sky to contrast with the Mono of the trees in a more abstract manner. Maybe I should have gone with a green or red sky to make it very weird.

Put this up very quickly and did not notice the processing marks from the mask. Must fix those .... whoops. Note to self - be in less of a hurry.

I quite like the mono version. I think it works well. Instead of using blue and orange, you could consider using a grey to add some tone to the sky. If you have a look at Michael Kenna's work, you will see a lot of monochromatic skies but usually with some grey tones...

My personal taste would tend towards the original or mono.
