My daughter bent the drawer on my dvd-r drive so I need to replace it. It's a fairly old machine, Dell Dimension E521 from 2008. I have no problem taking the old one out but want to know if replacements are universal or if I'll have to look out for something specific when buying one.

I have opened the box and the drive is held in with a spring loaded clasp.

There should be two cables connected to the back of the drive, one runs to the power supply and one leads to the motherboard. Can you upload a picture of the end of each cable?
