This video exaggerates how bad Barnes was. Not all of the 'off your feet' incidents were fouls. Many were legitimately clearing out the ruck.

Also, while Barnes certainly missed fouls from Wales, he missed some Irish ones too, and at the end of the game, Wales had conceded more penalties than Ireland. The difference between the teams was that Wales converted their penalties but Ireland kicked to the corner and came away with nothing

I think the title does the rest of the clip a bit of an injustice. It's actually quite a well put together piece albeit that I agree, some of the Wales "off their feet" are incorrect.

You put a crap ref in a high stakes game and you'll get poor decisions being made. Its not that Barnes is a cheat,he is just in a position he shouldn't be in.

None of the welsh players are going off their feet. It's an awful video made by someone with sour grapes for people who have sour grapes to hang onto.

OP here, I only came across it on Youtube and put it up here for discussion, I also do not think he is a cheat, just that he is not a great ref.

Jimmy Cooney AKA known as the justice ref. Offaly deserved their win.

As has been said Barnes isn't a cheat, perhaps slightly biased, but moreso just a poor ref at a standard he can't handle.

Videos like this really need to be ignored for the idle bar talk that it is. We have no idea who this guy is or his background and experience in the professional game. It's patently obvious that he hasn't a clue what he is talking about and its just sour grapes. In a day or so he'll be posting up about how the Dubs got shafted in the quest for Sam, taxes or East Europe block voting in the Eurovision.

Barnes isn't a crap ref though. He doesn't have the "feel for the game" some other of the guys on international circuit but he isn't poor and should be up at international level IMO

It's an embarrassment really, the only purpose the video serves is displaying that the creator's complete lack of understanding of the laws of the game.

The fact it has it's own thread just furthers the embarrassment of the whole saga.
