I just found this interesting and thought I'd share. I was surprised Bateman Quay was the top earner!

    Source: http://www.thejournal.ie/parking-fines-ireland-2001119-Mar2015/

Kilkenny City Council made €187,860 in parking fines in 2014. The top three streets in terms of money generation were: Bateman Quay (€18,540); Castle Road (€14,420); and Patrick Street (€11,210).

That's a lot when you break down per day, as there's flip all spaces at Bateman quay. They must patrol it like hawks.

Not really that many. Is it only 1 a day?

Yea 18540e a year is only 50e a day on average, and the fine is 40e. That means 5 tickets every 4 days. Very little really.

There is only loading bays, bus bays and taxi rank spaces on Bateman Quay. There are always cars parked in them so it'd be pretty easy to pick off a few fines everyday. Plus the lads working in the cash office in the car park are traffic wardens aswell.

The lads the council hired in last year will be back in April so the revenue will be up again.

? Down close to Johns bridge pretty sure there's about 15 or so spaces either side of the road. Rarely ever see a free space along there either.
