Insulation Behind Plasterboard .

Trying to make a long story short ...

House was built a long time ago , extension was built on about 30 years ago at the back , we bought the house 20 years ago ( yay ! mortgage paid off this month \0/ ) and turned extension into Kitchen . The back wall is covered in plasterboard but it still feels very cold with draughts coming through from god knows where as I have checked and sealed all the outside .

There is about a 4" gap between the wall and the plasterboard so I was going to take it off and put in some aero-board that I have left over from another job and put new plasterboard back on . I need to do this a cheap as possible as funds are at an all time low .

My question , is there a better way or another way I could approach this ?

And is there a way of pumping in insulation like they do to the outside of the house and if there is , is it expensive ?

Look at Walltite by BASF - I think you could do it the way you are thinking.

It is on the dearer side of the cavity insulation, but it is closed cell foam and can be used behind drylining. You may be able to just drill 12mm holes and get it pumped in from the inside. While expensive, it may work out cheaper.

I was getting quotes of €25 per m2 for 50mm thickness.
