Missing item - who is responsible?

    I ordered an item from an Amazon marketplace seller. I sent it to Parcel Motel.

    The seller sent the item via Royal Mail. They have a proof of delivery with a signature and printed name on it. The printed name simply says P Motel. The signature is very difficult to read.

    Parcel Motel claim they did not receive the item and that the signature is not of any of their employees. (you can see its M Mc something).

    I have gone back to the Amazon seller and given them Parcel Motels emails stating they didnt receive the item.

    Now the seller wants ME to proceed with a claim against Royal Mail - they say they will do the same also. But I have no contract with Royal Mail so I dont see why I should be opening a claim with them?

    Any advice?

    The seller sent the item, the seller deals with RM. RM will not deal with a missing item until 15 days have passed although it would appear that RM have a signature. I would check the time period on your Amazon account and then claim on the A-Z guarantee when it passes

    I've told the seller I won't be contacting RM. I'll give him a few days to resolve but checked the Amazon guarantee there and I've plenty of time anyway.
