Hello everyone I'd like some advice please. We are at the roofing stage of building a two storey house. House size is 227sq meters or 2446 sq feet. We will be having black fascia and soffit. We need to decide what colour windows and front door to get.

We have been to the company's showrooms and narrowed the choice down to brown pvc in the golden oak colour and brown timber front door or white pvc windows and a timber front door in either red or black.

The house has 14 windows at the front and I don't want to make a mistake and would love some feedback please. Thank you.

Personally I hate the PVC wood colours. We went with black windows and a cream front door and arched surround.

Yes I think the real timber is much nicer too but i don't like all the upkeep that comes with them and I'd guess they are more expensive. I've seen black windows with that reflective glass and it has looked lovely too. I hadn't really considered black before. Yours with the cream door sound nice.

Was originally thinking cream but it depends on the finish to the exterior as I've seen some terrible examples. With the black you don't notice them as much looking at the house. The other colours tend to stand out and are more in your face.

The sales man we saw thought black fascia white windows and red door was a good combination but I don't know about having three colours at the front of the house.

What's the exterior finish for the house

It's just plaster. It has a slight central projection with three windows upstairs over the front door. The front door is on its own with two 700mm wide windows on either side. They are almost the same lenght as the door.

Black windows and a red door to lift the colour scheme, I put a fine dry cream dash on my house. Worked well with the black windows

We went with grey windows and a black front door. The house is painted white and the window ledges are painted grey. Worked out really well.

Keep the colour palette as small as possible, this always looks classier. I would go with black windows to match the sofit and a coloured front door.

Ral 7016 (grey) or 7021 (grey/black) look good on aluminum frames failing that if your going with pvc then you can't beat black.

Can I ask did you get a RAL number for the golden oak?

I'd go with white. It may not be original, but they are popular for good reason. White windows are never in or out of fashion, go with any colour scheme inside and out, and you'll be changing other colours over the years, inside and out. They leave the inside rooms feeling just that little bit brighter that other colours do, and are easy to match up when it comes to repairs / maintenance etc.

I've just looked at the company's website and they do lots of colours. Some of the colours have RAL numbers but the golden oak doesn't. It's just listed as either light golden oak or golden oak. I'll pm you the company name.

Grey is the way to go. Will work with any colour.
