Okay had the test last night and during the test the Check ABS warning came on.

I swear it wasn't on before I dropped it in (11 Renault Grand Megane) and when I said this to the tester he was like "Yeah hear that one before!", which i'm sure is true!!!!!

When I went out to the car after getting the report yes it was on but once I drove the car about 100 meters it went off (NCT Fonthill - drove over to the ALDI and stopped) and since then (4 starts) has not came on.

As its just a visual I can now bring it back and get my cert but i'm wondering do I need to do anything else like get the car checked or should all be okay?

It was just the Check ABS and service light that came on, the STOP one never did (which according to the manual is BAD)

    Ta in advance!

Possibly as issue with the test rulers confusing the abs system. The car when tested is placed on a roller where 2 wheels are stationary and 2 moving. Car could read this as a sensor error

You're absolutely right. A few times when spinning wheels on a lift I would have brought on a light (or a parking brake fault) and have to clear them before returning. Though the rollers are at a low enough speed, it may be a case of increasingly sensitive ABS sensors fitted to cars.

Did the tester not say if the light came on when he was testing it? I'd just bring it back and if the light comes on again, make your case that it's been plugged in and no faults outside of different independent wheel speed readings were found.

Personally I would go back as soon as possible and get the nct cert.
Beyond that i would wait until the light comes on again.

A rolling road would certainly confuse the abs or traction control. I'd guess that the tester wasn't familiar with the reason why. The error light should be cleared after the car has driven a set distance with no occurrence. (The error description and time of occurrence will be stored in the ECU still.)

Thanks guys :) I'm bringing it back as its still off so appears to be okay.

Was just making sure that there is no real issue. if it does come back on i'll get it checked :)

He just said it was on and I know 100% it wasn't when I parked up. He didn't say that it was during the test or not as I think he was thinking I was chancing my arm saying it wasn't on before the test.

It has this annoying orange spanner that comes on when its due a service which I can't stand as its annoying which is why I can be sure it wasn't on.
