So I had a bit of a question.
Flying with Lufthansa on Tuesday, DUB -> FRA, FRA -> HND.

Theres no telling how long this strike is going to last, so I'm preparing for the worst.
Hows does LH deal with if one flight in cancelled (say DUB -> FRA), what happens with the connecting flight?

Jaysus I'm doin the same 2 flights on Wednesday, didnt even realise this strike was goin down....surely wont let it drag on that long will they?
Seems to have only been scheduled for Weds/Thurs but today was added at last min

I see today the flight to Frankfurt is a goner alright but the Tokyo one is still scheduled, might look into alternative flights to Frankfurt if need be

Yeah, probably going to do that myself.
After checking my insurance policy bought with Lufthansa, I'm covered up to 5k on missed connections, to continue my journey.

So I'll outbound with Aer Lingus to FRA, and then try and board FRA -> HND, as that leg appears unaffected up until now.

Yeah same here, Im sure if strike is still ongoing mid next week you could ring their customer service & inform them that you've made alternative arrangements to get to FRA & to hold onto your 2nd booking for you

What a nightmare, and here was me more concerned tweeting them this morning asking if there'd be wifi on board to try & get Conor Mcgreggor tickets for July lol

Flying with Aer Lingus means being there crazy early that morning but better than missing it I guess, Ryanair fly on Tuesday too but not sure of times

Ryanair do NOT fly to Frankfurt. They fly to Hahn which is 115km away, a 2 hour bus journey.
If trying to find an alternative to Frankfurt then maybe also look into flying to Cologne.
The flight is late in the evening normally, so may require an overnight, but theres no lack of cheap hotels in Cologne and the ICE train has to you FRA in about an hour the next morning. Cologne is not the prettiest city but its good for bars so you'll not be stuck for something to do in the evening.

Ahh nice 1, I actually copped the HAHN on the Ryanair site & never twigged it was a different airport

Guys, quick question if that's ok.

Myself and 3 friends had booked flights to fly to Japan today. The long haul flight outgoing has been cancelled. We contacted Lufthansa and have rebooked with another airline now departing 24 hours later. Would we be entitled to any sort of compensation as we've essentially lost a day of our holiday through no fault of our own?

    Thanks!!

Unless you had Travel Insurance, the Airline doesn't owe compensation for strike action.
EU defines it as extraordinary circumstances.
