    just wondering what the correct procedure is for the disposal of empty medicine bottles, specifically those glass 100ml bottles?

    Kind Regards

    return them to your vet.

    If they're empty glass bottles you can take off the top, clean them out and recycle as normal. If you have remaining medicine in them/out of date etc, bring them back to the vets and they'll dispose of them correctly.

    How about items you buy from a merchant, or online, like vaccinations, doses, obviously prescription stuff is dealt with via vet, but how about the rest?

    You're supposed to contact your local authority......
    I usually wash it out and if it's got the recycling symbol on it, fire it into the blue bin. For right or for wrong!

    If you have any left over medicines of any kind, return them to your supplier / vet / doctor / pharmacy.

    Bin colours vary from location to location.

    Do **not** put glass in the ordinary recycling bin. Broken glass renders paper and cardboard un-recyclable.

    Blue bin = Recyclable here. All glass goes to the park glass bins :)

    I was at one of those teagasc drop off centres last year, great job for getting rid of medicines and spray bottles, and they give ya a receipt in case of inspection-box ticked-happy days

    I always put any this kind of stuff in with the household waste which is collected every 2 wks by KWD, would this cover me in the event of an inspection?

    Resurrecting an old thread here. I clean and recycle medicine bottles with our household waste. In the event of an inspection will i be required to produce evidence of disposal?
