    hello all,

my van is a dispatch over 10 years old. It didn't have a service in a very long time and was abused by former owner. He didn't service it for 40000 miles. Amazingly, it still runs great but I am sure there must be a lot of internal wear. The recommended oil is a fuel efficient 5w 30. But, as there may be so much wear am I better going with a thicker oil? Any suggestions?

    Thanks a lot,

    John

Just get it fully serviced, paying attention to other service items that may have been overlooked, belts, brakes etc and just use the recommended grade oil as per manufacturer recommendations. Don't go creating a home made concoction of sh1te that will invariably cause more problems further down the road.
