    Hi,
I have a problem with my heating system in that the upstairs rads dont come on. Its a 3 zone system with upstairs, downstairs and water and 2 thermostats. I found the motorised valve for upstairs and when I manually activate it the heating comes on. Blue valve cover with a/n 60921622 on it. Im wondering is it the valve or thermostat unit that is at fault and whats the best way to troubleshoot..Thanks

If you know what you are at; turn back the controlling thermostat fully. With heating on, check for power at incoming and outgoing side of stat. Turn on stat and make same checks. You should now have outgoing power. If not, it is probably the stat.
You could confirm by also carrying out power checks at MV with stat on and then off.
All this is assuming you have a multimeter and know how to use it. If not, leave to to someone who won't kill themselves when doing this.
