Hi all. Just got a call from the mother inlaw. She moved house recently to an area with no upc service. She had been a cus 5 years +. They rang looking for the 2 set top boxs and modem back or else she will be charged for the equipment. Are they within their rights to look for this equipment back? Surely after that period of time the equipment would become hers?

I just think thats a petty thing to do after been a long term customer.

Yep, it's their equipment. The customer only has use of it.

    As above. http://www.upc.ie/terms/

All equipment provided to you to avail of our services belongs to UPC.
The equipment is provided for use by residential customers and are for residential, non-commercial use only.

I upgraded to Horizon last year from the cablelink box pre UPC. They said the delivery man would take the old box away but he didn't.

Its theirs and if you're not a customer its of zero use anyway - unlike a Sky box or DSL modem which can be reused.

Genuine question: why does she want to keep it? It's completely useless.

    Hi Evosteo,

The equipment would need to be returned but your mum can arrange this with an e-mail to 'upcequipmentcollections@sierra.ie'.

If there's anything we can help you with just drop us a post on our Talk To forum : http://www.boards.ie/ttforum/1546

    Thanks.
