Motor tax

    A bit of a strange one - not sure if this is the right forum.

    My car tax expired in Feb this year. Never received the renewal notice, so I emailed the motor tax website adding for my PIN so I could log in and pay.

    I got an email back saying to use the PIN retrieval link on their website. I went on to the website and clicked the link. It tried to redirect me to motarviews.ie (no misspelling). My anti virus immediately blocked the site as being a fraudulent site with malware. It will let me go into the site, but it has disabled all the buttons and fields.

    Now my question is if this site is legit? Also how do I contact the motor tax guys, by phone, to confirm the information?

    Site is legit.
    Maybe your antivirus is not :D
    Disable it or make exceotiob for that website

    motarviews.ie seems legit ...

    If you go to motortax.ie and hover over the Pin Retrieval link you'll see it sends you to a page on motarviews.ie just for this for some bizarre reason.

    If you paid your motor tax online previously then you probably didn't on tick the box that says to will receive all future communications via email. This is why you didn't receive a paper renewal form in the post. They would have sent the reminder and PIN to the email address you originally provided.

    And that website is legit, I renewed using it last month.
