Concrete Floor Problem

    Hi,
We're renovating a bungalow and having knocked a few internal walls, I'm finding we have fairly significant differences in floor level from room to room, say 1 inch maybe plus there may be more than that from highest to lowest point in a room but haven't checked levels yet.
What's the best or the cheapest way to get this all level??

Do I dig it all up or try to use some kind of leveling product?? If I didn't want to bring everything up the wherever the highest point is, is there anyway to remove locally high points i.e. grinding or something more innovative???

    Hope someone can help.

    Focuswrc.

Is this a council house by any chance?

one of the bedrooms in our house had what seemed like a swollen part. so my father got a pic and dug at it.. our house is a council house and turns out they had put sandy stuff under about a half inch thick of concrete. fcking joke

Not a council house berger. It was a self build in 99. Plenty of concrete but randomly mixed ( some parts very hard and some parts soft and of course, levels are all over the place!

We want to put down timber on about half of the floor, 3 rooms in total. I'm advised that the floors will have to made level to allow timber floor fitting??

I've seen it done, you lay Battens to level and lay timber flooring over, it's time consuming and you loose an inch or so. Other options are to dig out the floor or lay a self levelling screed
