I just started this on monday and the hours are dire. It's 8:30 to 3:45 every day except Friday where it's finished at 12:45. We only get a 30 minute break so I'm pretty much looking at the screen for nearly 8 hours straight... and I hear I get no work experience on it and the certificate is only Level 4... is this the case? Right now I'm doing the Microsoft Office Specialist course and the time span for this course is 12 weeks. However she says I could be finished in 6 if I'm quick?

Is it worth staying on as I am in desperate need for a real job? Would I be better off looking to switch courses with the dole and hope they put me on something with actual work experience? The course is not what I thought it would be. And I'm afraid I risk getting cut if I talk to the dole. :( Has anyone ever done this?

If you want to switch courses, you won't know unless you ask. If I was that unhappy, I would try and get onto another course. You can only ask.

Though, if you're unhappy about not having work experience, they may get you to finish the course and then a jobbridge.

I thought the course was Adobe Photoshop as I've been using that for nearly a decade and wanted the certificate to see if I can make a career out of it.

Turns out thats not included and its just Microsoft Office and stuff. Granted I didn't use the program much but it's nothing I wouldn't have picked up on my own. I just don't think it will get me anywhere, is all. I get an extra 60 euro every day is just a drag, looking at the clock on your screen, you know? I don't know if I'll be able to drag myself in there every day. And besides that, it's a 30 minute walk away and I won't get travel expenses because I live in the town...

done the course about 3 years ago
    was 14 weeks long
dragged in, I know alot about computers as well so this made it even drag in more because I knew most of the stuff on it, just didn't have the qualification to prove I did.

Never got a job from the cert either, as its only a basic knowledge of computers

if it wasnt for the people in the course who I had a laugh with, I would of left it straight away. Also the instructor was funny as well.
But seriously hated that course, its only an intro into actually more advanced stuff or for people who never used computers before
