There is a large sentiment on Boards that Chris Kyle (the American Sniper) was a war-mongering psycho, he was the U.S. Navy SEAL who had the most kills in U.S. history. Then what does this mean for Liam Flynn? The Kildare man who was a U.S. Marine who died this past week in a training accident.

Kyle joined the Navy in 1999 at a time of relative piece and served his own nation with the contract stating he would serve in any capacity- meaning he could've been stationed in Germany, provided security for diplomats, or combatted Latin American drug cartels in the Amazon. Flynn left his home nation as a paid mercenary to serve in the Front Lines of the U.S. Marine Corps in 2006- a time of extreme conflict as a Marine- the force that is deployed in the roughest areas of Iraq and Afghanistan with death being a consistent threat as well as having to use his weapon to kill the enemy. At a time when the landscape or theatre of the war, if you will, was well-defined and yet through either courage or warmongering mercenary work (that is the question) he still enlisted. So to summarize, if Kyle can be called a warmongering psychopath for enlisting in his own military at a time of relative peace, then what would you call Liam Flynn - a man who left Ireland to be paid at the front lines of the U.S. Marines at a time of great conflict that destabilized the region completely, fought for oil and corporate interests, and destroyed the lives, communities, and futures of many people in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I will ask in AH to gain a better amount of data. But please refrain from personal abuse and defaming for it is against the terms of agreement within the Boards membership contract.
