Ive been feeding duck on a pond for a few months now with good success.
I didn't shoot it this year as I want to get a few duck using this area for years to come and intend to dig a larger pond this year 150m away.

Problem is this current pond/spring dries out for the summer months.....should I stop feeding them now to prevent them from nesting in the surrounding rushes......and running out of water for the ducklings?

Yes you will only be feeding crows the hen won't lay unless there's water available and ideally if your going to the trouble of digging then defiantly put in an island for them to have a safe are from foxes etc

    Thanks K,

Stopped feeeding them about 9 days ago, but they still come in....in pairs
Nature will take its course I guess. Hopefully will have a digger in in the next month or so and will keep the island in mind.....thanks.
