    HI,

Does anyone have a link to the current technical requirments for a car conversion to meet commercial vehicle requirements please? Can't seem to find it - although I remember seeing it on the web years ago.

Could a 2 door coupe with bootlid and stripped out rear seats + welding meet the requirements, for example?

    Thanks

Gas, I started a thread on this very subject this morning!
OP, can you shed some light on this for me please?
Is pretty much any three door coupe eligible for commercial conversion?

    600mm minimum loading height
cargo space must make up at least 50% of the space where theres only 2 seats.
cargo area has to be 40% of the wheelbase
cargo area has to be 'generally flat' (e.g. no loading into it from the rear with a big drop down into it.

i think most coupe's wouldn't suit these requirements, perhaps a 3 series or something but little else.

I'm guessing a twin turbo Supra won't cut the mustard then no?!

There was a 300ZX on DoneDeal that was commercial so it might work!

up to 2005 ish i think that was all ok, its completely different now , and anything post 2010 has to be commercial out of the factory, no more conversions for that stuff at all.

load height and cargo area being 40% of wheelbase would definitely stop that.

I'm determined to get something seriously pokey into the commercial tax bracket, they're making it hard for me from what you've posted above!
Any suggestions as to what might qualify by any chance?
    An M3? A 190 Celica? Honda Integra?

an e46 compact hatch with as big an engine as you can find perhaps.

Aside from that you'd be looking something big , petrol supercharged range rover sport ? bmw X5 4.6is ? V10 Toureg ?
