Can anyone recommend a replacement for my UPC Cisco router. I don't need anything fancy. Something with a similar signal strength/speed will do fine. Main point is that it has to allow for setting up a VPN. What would be the cheaper solution for this? Thanks.

You can't replace a UPC cable modem, beyond asking UPC for one.

You can only add a standalone router connected to it.

Ah. I didn't know that. Can I set up a VPN on a connected router? Can you recommend a cheap solution for that?

What you want to do is bridge the 3925 (it will then pass a public ip to a device behind it) then install a router behind and connect to that.

The Archer c7 would be my recommendation.

Any other recommendations? That might be slightly out of my budget!

Am looking for the cheapest possible option that would be suitable for a typical 3 bed semi. There are never more than 2 devices connected at once.

There is a Belkin on special at the moment. Would be about 60 euro delivered.

I have never used this one but it should suit.
