Darts advice and Equipment

Just a question. I have dart board in the house. Played few games. Sometimes I am quite accurate(for beginner) and other times I fail to hit the board with 2 darts in row sometimes. My dart seems to float and loose power, and even when try put more power it seems to go way too astray. I play round the clock and sometimes I hit 3 in row(singles) other times I cant hit board.

I expect to be inconsistent starting off but I seem be either good or very bad

So is it the darts or my action do you reckon? Should I look to change my darts and where online or shop in Munster could offer good advice?

    Thanks in advance.

edit@ the shaft in my dart is a brass dart if that helps. Its quite tick so its not like tungsten darts

If it's the darts that you get free with the board then I would change them.

Go onto darts corner or red dragon darts and have a browse around and see if a set catch your eye.

The best thing to do tho is throw as many sets as you can and see if you like any sets that you have thrown. Do this by throwing your mates darts in a pub or friends houses or whatever.

Ditch the brass darts for tungsten and read the numerous other threads started by beginners or people looking for advice on how to improve

I know that but surely some darts will help more then others right?

I'm not expecting to turn into Phil Taylor over night

Ya well I would definitely recommend getting some tungsten but dont be fooled trying loads a different brand name darts. Get a set and stick with them. Supposedly heavier darts are more forgiving so a 26g+ might suit for beginners.
