Today he gave 6 months to a man for sexually abusing a 5 year old for 2 years. He would have got 20+ years in the US. There is even a petition calling for his resignation with 1,392 signatures. The same judge who gave six years to a first time offender who did not pay tax on garlic. Its impossible to get rid of him…

Today he gave 6 months to a man for sexually abusing a 5 year old for 2 years. He would have got 20+ years in the US. There is even a petition calling for his resignation with 1,392 signatures. The same judge who gave six years to a first time offender who did not pay tax on garlic. Its impossible to get rid of him unfortunate unless he resigns.

This year alone, Judge Martin Nolan has given fines instead of jail time to multiple sexual predators who in the hands of most other judges would have gone straight to jail. A 29 yr old man who committed a violent sexual attack on a teenager he met in a chip shop has avoided jail on condition he pay €15,000 to the girl. He had 4 previous convictions for assault causing harm. In another case, Judge Martin Nolan suspended the entire sentence of a man convicted of violently attacking three women on the condition he pays €12,000. A car dealer who sexually assaulted two of his adult nieces has avoided a jail term after the judge said publication of his name will be punishment in itself. Judge Nolan said the abuse was very serious but "the seriousness of the assaults themselves do not mandate a custodial sentence". Well no Judge, this is NOT ACCEPTABLE. We DEMAND that this man is no longer in a position to prohibit our protection from sexual predators, making a mockery of our judicial system, degrading, disrespecting and metaphorically spitting on the women of this country. Please sign this petition and join us in telling our government that this is not ok, that women deserve protection, and this blatant misogyny has no place in our legal system. We demand this man's resignation.

6 months is pathetic. Well, on the plus side child molestors don't have an easy time in prison.

I dont think they go into "normal" prison. Sex offenders usually get put together. In Arbour Hill I think.
