Phil Lynott's bass playing?

What song do you think best showcases Phil Lynott's bass playing?

Many people say Emerald, specifically the way his bass complements the dual guitars (at 2:31 in this clip) just before the solo.

Also, Dancing in the Moonlight's intro is iconic.

A less well-known song with a distinctive bassline is The Sun Goes Down.

    Any other thoughts?

Agree on Emerald but not before the solos. During the solos he has some epic playing which gets better and better as the solos go on.

Oh and no offence but that version of a Emerald is pretty poor, Snowy White, Phils voice starting to deteriorate.

Phil Lynott was a fantastic front man lyricist and poet, but he was undoubtedly very under rated as a bass player. It's only when you stop and listen to some of his runs , you realize just how good he was.
