As many people know "creating writing" was a feature in the property supplements of newspapers during the "boom" years.

While recently browsing and looking to buy a two bedroom apartment in Greystones I came across a Dublin city estate agent who was advertising same. Their opening statement began with..................
We are excited to bring to the market.........

I desisted from contacting them less they might get over excited and bring on unforeseen complications for themselves.

Anyone like to post examples here of property on the market being advertised with with "remarkable creativity".

A good example, I will try and get him a book deal !

Grand Designs would be impressed by this captivating residence .....

Patrick Leonard is truly honoured to present this palatial residence to the Co. Louth market. Seldom does a property oozing such character with a magical story behind how it was created, come to market and this spectacular home which is less than 5 years old will impress the most discerning purchaser

This particular agent seems to spend more time writing these pieces than they do selling houses!

"architect designed". Aren't all houses designed by an architect?

Would property in that area normally go for 900k?

900k for a house so close to the quarry?

    For real?

Oh Lord! Beautiful flat, but the prose leaves me feeling slightly sick. Sugary and breathless don't quite cover it...:P

I remmeber when that was put on the market 6 months or so ago; I would be shocked if they managed ot get half the asking price. It's an ok size with a good view but nothing spectacular to warrant that price.

    It goes on:

You will have breakfast admiring the last gorgeous, five masts vessel mooring in the harbour, like a purring cat adjusting on your lap. You will watch the HSS dynamic shape manoeuvring and dashing, cheerful, before departing for another adventure.

    Or

Sailing activities and regattas, three times a week, you will be able to follow, start to finish, sipping your tea, on your living room sofa, decreeing the winners, if you like.

I had to google "decreeing". :o

Even if I had the money and liked this property, an advert like this would make me feel like I was being conned!
