We'll be in AH once the mods wake up..

I'd suggest I examine her first for signs of nymphomania. Should she pass I'll knock off something official looking on the back of a Lidl receipt.
This will cost you a temp. residency visa of €2000. Just for friends.

I'm not looking for one. Come on, let's get back on topic.

It will be. We'll wait while the lad above is googling with himself.

The minute I saw the question, I knew the OP would get roasted and his girlfriend will also get roasted if some of the lads on this thread get hold of her.

I love a good legal barnie. We start with immigration and stop by masturbation via bestiality winding up with distribution of pornography.
    I blame the Canadians.

Right, so. Lets assume that this lady has Argentinian citizenship and has no other citizenship because, if she had any other citizenship, you would have mentioned it. Lets also assume that she's a girl you've met, not your wife or your fiancee or your de facto partner because, again, you would have mentioned something like that.

A citizen of Argentina does not need a visa to enter Ireland as a tourist for a stay of up to 90 days.

If she want to stay longer that, or to come here other than as a tourist, the possibilities are:

    - Study visa. She'll need to enroll in a suitable course of study, provide a letter from the college confirming her enrollment, provide evidence that she has paid the fees, that she has finance in place to support herself, that she has medical insurance, that she has a sufficient grasp of English (unless the course she is enrolled in is itself an English course).

    - Work visa. She'll need to get an employment permit from the Dept of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, before she can apply for a visa. There are various categories in which the Dept grants permits (critical skills permit, internship permit, intra-company transfer permit, etc) and you can research these on the Dept of Enterprise website. Bottom line, though, is that the planets would probably have to align quite nicely and she'd need a prospective employer highly motivated to want her for this one to come off.

    - Working holiday. There is an Ireland-Argentina Working Holiday Arrangement under which citizens of one country can come to the other and work for up to twelve months. There's a limit to the number of places available; once that limit is reached they close the programme. At the moment it's closed, but that doesn't mean it won't re-open. An Argentinian wanting to participate in the programme needs to apply through the Irish Embassy in Buenos Aires, which is awkward given that the lady in question is in Toronto, but not impossible. She would need police clearance, copies of her educational qualifications and her CV, and evidence that she has the equivalent of 3,000 euros in the bank. And she would need to be aged not more than 30. While on this programme in Ireland she couldn't study, couldn't take up employment that would lead to a qualification, and couldn't covert her status to anything more long-term. So if things went well between you and you wanted to make it permanent, she would have to leave Ireland and then apply from outside for something more long-term.

By any chance is she entitled to an Italian passport, a lot of Argentinians are. This would be the perfect situation as EU citizens can move to Ireland at will, no extra visas required.
