Usually 50ish days. Separating the calves from the cows and only letting them suck twice a day might pull them back a few days. If you can't do that like me, I am putting them out to grass as soon as they drop a calf. I'm hopeing this will pull them back a few days.

Other than that make sure they have annof minerals, and are in good condition. A sniff of meal if under condition will help to.

minerals are important too. selenium, copper, iodine and some other trace elements. we use the bolus, slow release over 180 days so you know you are covered.

Agridirect have iodine & selenium bolus which you can give 4-6 weeks prior to calving

What would be a good mineral bucket to get to cover them if on silage and not separating them from calves. How much are they and where do you get them?

I use a fertility bucket designed for dairy cows but it does the sucklers fine. Get it in my local co-op. Think it's 10euro a bucket.

Many suckler lads calveing in late dec early jan seeing many bulling yet?

Mine have got a boules and have fert licks and are out for the last few weeks getting a pick of silage as they want it.

I'm not seeing as many bulling as I'd like to. They nearly all calved unaided but most are first calvers to be fair.

Maidens are bulling like mad and probably %50 bulled by now.
