New car wanted 4k-4.5k not diesel!

Going to be in the market in the next few weeks for a new family bus, I don't want a diseasal at all has to be petrol, it has to be reliable obviously..... At the minute I'm leaning towards estates and like the looks of the Volvo v50, Subaru legacy, e200 komp's, Audi petrols(rare!) I'm aware of timing chain issues with the e200's but is it really that rampant? Any others I should be considering or any to avoid off my list? Oh and sub2lt please!

Now that's a niiiiice bimmer 'state....fed up with payin 1k plus tax though. If it had been a 2.0l I'd have rung and given him a deposit for it, herself not a fan of the accords colm....

Era she's only €951 to tax :pac: about 50c extra per day to tax. Think of the cylinders man! The cylinders!

Would be a Subaru for me if I were in your shoes. Forester top of he list, a bit over the engine capacity limit at 2.5 but they're cracking cars and you could get this in budget with haggling I'd say.

I like the x-trails, herself not keen though. Herself likes the E90 3 series some nice ones on done deal, a bit of googling doesn't throw up much problems with them

Considering selling my wife's 9-5 as she wants something with more height. It's an 05 with 62k miles - just been serviced and a new set of Pirellis fitted. NCT is until Mar next year and I think it has some tax on it...

Is there anything you dont like about that particular forester?, was tempted to take a look at it a few weeks back. it has been sitting there quite a while

Going to look at a 2005 e200 this evening, 101k on the clock, timing chain and gears just done along with a proper autobox service and a fresh Nct so we'll see....

picked up a 2005 e200 komp today, 101k on the clock, new nct, 2k reciept for service, timing chain and gears and a full autobox service in sept last new alternator in dec along with full stamped history
