I recently passed my medical for the reserve army despite the fact that I have double vision as a result of a squint. I have just applied for the Navy. Is there a difference between the medical for the PDF and the RDF or are they just less strict for the RDF?

Same medical for PDF and RDF. Think the Naval Service may have different sight requirements though.

I just spoke with the naval service there. They said "the medical is standard across the Irish defence forces". I think the cadets require more strict requirements than recruits though.
