    Hi,

I am looking to insure a new watch that i bought.

I am in rented accommodation so i am looking to insure the watch on it's own, and not part of house contents insurance.

I've done a search on Google but not much comes up.

Can anyone recommend an insurance company that provides this services, many thanks.

    P

Just because you don't own the house doesn't mean you can't get home contents insurance......or is it you just don't want contents insurance?

I'm in rented accommodation and have a contents insurance policy with FBD. Anything that I want to be specifically insured I just ensure it is listed separately under all risks. It might be worth looking into before you rule it out completely.

I'm sure there are plenty of other companies that will do contents only policies but they may not list them on their websites (FBD do).

Ok, but would house contents insurance cover the watch if it was stolen or lost outside of the house?

Yes if you specifically request it to be covered "All Risks". There is usually and additional premium for this depending on the value of the item.

You don't need to be an owner to get contents cover. Get the basic home content cover and add specified items. Safer to have the reciept or valuation to be on the safe side.

I use BOI. I found them to be very easy to deal with the competitively priced.

What watch did you get? :)
