Comic storage boxes

I need to put my old collection in the attic and was wondering what is the best method of storage? Are acid free cardboard boxes necessary or would plastic storage boxes do? Are there any Dublin comic shops selling storage boxes?

Any storage advise you have would be appreciated.

Most stores will sell Long boxes. Which are the Cardboard Boxes. But wouldn't put them in an attic.

The likes of Woodies/B&Q have a selection of Plastic seal-able containers that would fare better.
But if there's cold or Dampness to the attic it can be hazardous to the collections health.

Yeah it does get very cold in the winter and very warm in the summer. Might not be a good idea after all...

Be well off paying for long boxes! :pac:, I use the plastic seal-able boxes from Woodies, I found that about 200 or so standard american comics will fit in them or about 300 issues of Commando. They're dirt cheap too.

As you said, there's no way I'd put anything in my attic, it gets fierce hot during the summer. The great thing about the plastic boxes is that they're strong enough to stack on top of each other so in the corner of the spare room they go.

I put my collection in the attic once (~ 3000 Comics) and it started to bow the joists. It was a crap house, but be carefull :)
