Hi just wondering if anyone can help me,

I recently admired a necklace on a girl in a shop, its had a long chain with an old Irish pound coin on it. When I asked here she got it she said she had brought the coin to a jewellers and got it custom made. I never asked her where the Jeweller was and have no idea where to start looking.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Don't know where you're based but there are some wonderful jewellery makers in Kilkenny. A google search should throw up most of them but a couple to look at

James Mary Kelly - Design Centre, Kilkenny Yard - (very good, have used personally)
Rudolf Heltzel - Goldsmith - Patrick Street, Kilkenny
MTW Jewellery - Market Slip, Kilkenny

    Hope these help :)

Hi, you could also try on etsy.com. Mnay of the artists there make goods to order and I have had necklaces made to my exact want. I found it much cheaper than Jewellers quoted me here. Just bear in mind if you are buying from outside the EU then import duty/tax may apply.

There's a guy in the little craft village in Spiddeal who specialises in this. I think he lacquers the coins which gives a lovely finish.

Thanks Guys this is great! really appreciate people taking the time to reply!

Will definitely look into etsy, not something I've used before so have always been a bit wary of it until now!
