Does anyone have any experience of coming back to Ireland after completing FY1? The Medical Council are now approving FY1 as equivalent to Irish intern year however they are requesting students to sit the pres even if they are Irish graduates originally. Does anyone have any experience of this?

I know of one person who has done this, but FY1 starts later than than the Irish intern year so it can be difficult to complete the year and get signed off in time to start a training scheme here if that is your intention. The person who managed it had to save up all their leave and do a lot of call swapping to make sure that they could make it back to Ireland in time to start their training scheme.
