Samsung S5 unlock question ( work phone)

Hi my work place was with o2 and would give me an upgrade to purchase a discounted phone with them and get it unlocked, usually instantly HOwever I need to replace my phone (battery dying and screen cracked , without a drop!) so they offer me the upgrade BUT three do not unlock phones until contract ends etc My question is…

My question is : Is it reasonably easy to unlock an Samsung S5 (though I would lose warranty the store said) or should I just swap from meteor 30 day contract to a three one ?
