Like the eejit I am. I just realised I booked a return ticket for irish rail on good Friday, but I'd be able make a train the Thursday evening before that after work.

Will I be able to get through the gates at Heuston with this ticket on the Thursday even though it's for Friday?

I'll be willing to pay the €10 surcharge if required to do so.

You will have to cancel and re book.

I have just used the first part of the ticket to get up to Dublin. So how will I go about cancelling it or changing the return journey to the 2nd of April instead of the 3rd?

You will have to buy a new ticket if you want to go back at an earlier date. Ring them in the morning and see what they tell you.
