Booking my Test - Wait Time?

    Ok, so I booked my test the other day and it said I've a wait time of around 10 weeks. I currently still have 2 lessons to complete, so does the 10 weeks start from when the final lesson is completed, or from when I've booked?

    I'm a little confused about this; also, if I choose "Cancellation" is it likely you'd get a test in the next week or so?

    The 10 weeks start from when the last lesson is logged as complete on the RSA's website. Until they are done, your driver number is on hold and you can not be assigned a test date. The hold is removed once your 12th lesson is logged as complete. You can't apply for a Cancellation date either. You can, once your 12 lessons are done. If they have any canceled tests available in the test couple of weeks, you can be assigned one. There is no way of saying for sure if you will be able to get one as its a live, real time booking system.

    Do your 2 lessons then ring up the RSA and ask for a cancellation. Theyll tell you when some are available and if none are ring up the next morning. Worked for me 2 years ago to get a test within 10 days. Back when I was rushing to beat the introduction of the N plates, turned out I didnt need to rush as much

    I've finished my lessons and have applied for a cancellation but heard nothing after nearly 4 weeks. Did you call the test centre you applied to or is there a central office to call?

    IIRC its a central office definitely not the test centre. Ask for a date and they should give you one. I booked online and rang up the next day and had a choice of 5 times over the next 2 weeks. And I just picked one and received an email conforming it I think. Youll defiantely get a time soon enough. A lot of cancellations around now because of college exams.

    Meant to reply the other day! I called up and got the main office and they offered me 4 or 5 different ones! So I have the test tomorrow in Rathgar at 08:25! :S

    Thanks for the idea to call them! Could have been waiting months otherwise!
