Cheapest is AWS free tier if you are familiar with Linux and don't mind configuring things.

Ireland is generally one of the most expensive places to host and cheap packages offer bad value compared to US NL etc

If its just one domain godaddy have 1year cpanel hosting for €12 at the moment

If your market is primarily Irish-based folks then .ie would probably be the best for you. It does cost a good bit more than .com however and I think you need an Irish company number to register a .ie domain. I am open for correction on this however.

Wordpress charge you to use your own domain also, but yes it can be done.

still works for me, they try sneak on a privacy thing and a .eu version but if I deselect them I get it for 37c,

is it important not to be searchable on whois website?

worked for me too, deselected all of the addons and selected auto-renewal and got 3 for €1.11 incl VAT

about 20c an hour. seems like a fair deal.

Just so ye know, regsiter365 let you setup Email forwarders for free. For example:

yourname@yourdomain.com will forward emails to yourname@gmail.com

This way you can have the fancy email address for incoming emails but no need to be email hosting.

btw, In the above example Outbound emails will still bare the yourname@gmail.com address.
