Jobs in Dubai

My husband was talking to a person who is going to work in Dubai and has the idea now in his head that we should go there for 6 months and see how it goes.

He works in IT and I work in finance.
Allegedly there are plenty of jobs there in both sectors.
Has anyone here ever done this?

I would be interested in hearing how it works.
Do you just go to an agency and apply for jobs and have it set up before you go out?
I believe its tax free and the wages are very good.

I was there for a week once and loved the place so i know how hot it is and what there is to do at night etc.

Its only a hatchling of an idea at the moment, but has got me curious.

I cant help you but would like to see or hear from anyone out there. I presume you have to be pretty niche.

You don't really have to be niche. The problem with IT and Finance in Dubai is that the market is well supplied with high calibre Indian and Filipino professionals who are willing to work for less than westerners. That said, it's far from impossible to get a job in IT and finance as a westerner. It can take a long time, though. Use LinkedIn and contact recruiters.
