Renting a house that has a Grant solar system. 2 panels on the garage roof with boiler in the garage. Hot water tank in the hotpress in the main house.

    How does it all work??

Does it just head the water for heating the house or also the hot water tank in the hotpress??

Sorry, all new to me. Thanks.

If it is all set up correctly, the solar panels just heat the water in the hot water cylinder. They usually heat the bottom half of the cylinder (which in turn will heat the top half if it is cold). The boiler in the garage should heat the top half of the cylinder only. In summer time it is best to set the timer on that so that it only comes on in the evening to heat the water if the solar panels haven't already done so.
